Duel Bonus Buy Slots
A bonus buy is a paid shortcut into a slot's feature: you pay a multiple of the stake — from 60x to 600x on the games below — and skip straight to the bonus round. On Duel the purchase counts as turnover, so it earns the usual rakeback of half the badge edge, and the bought mode has its own RTP that is often, but not always, the figure on the badge. This page lists the games where we confirmed the option inside the Duel client, what each buy costs, and what it does to your net cost.
The short version from the eight games we played with real money: feature-mode RTPs ran above base on some titles, below on others, and level on two. Sweet Bonanza 1000's 500x buy runs at the badge figure; Gates of Olympus Super Scatter's buys run below it — there the ante bet, not the buy, is the best mode. None of the differences exceeds a few hundredths of a point. What a buy changes is not the average cost but how it arrives: dozens of spins' worth of variance in a single purchase.

Costs are multiples of the current stake. Rows marked tested had their feature-mode RTPs read from the rules screen during a wager test and link to it.

What you pay
The Arithmetic of a Buy on Duel
Three things happen when you buy a feature. You wager the buy price at once; the mode you purchased applies its own RTP to that money; and Duel credits half the badge edge on it as rakeback, exactly as on a spin. Put together:
Per $100 spent on buysTheoretical cost = $100 × (100% − buy-mode RTP). Rakeback = $100 × badge edge × 50%. Net cost = the difference.
Two purchases at the same price show how the mode RTP matters. Sweet Bonanza 1000's 500x buy at a $0.20 stake is $100: the buy mode runs at 96.55%, so the theoretical cost is $3.45; the badge is also 96.55%, so the rakeback is $1.73; net $1.73 — identical to base play after rakeback. Gates of Olympus Super Scatter's 500x buy at the same stake is also $100, but its buy mode runs at 96.49% against a 96.55% badge: cost $3.51, rakeback $1.73, net $1.79. Six cents more per $100 than the badge suggests — and on that game the ante bet, not the buy, is the mode the badge quotes.
Those six cents are the whole size of the penalty where it exists. The number that changes by an order of magnitude is not the cost but the variance: $100 of base spins is 500 independent outcomes, $100 spent on the feature is one.

Eight Games Where We Read the Buy RTP in the Client
All figures were read from the rules screen on Duel on the test date. Net edge on the buy is (100% − buy RTP) minus the rakeback, which is always half the badge edge; where a game has several buy tiers, the range covers all of them.

Three tested games are missing from this table — Fist of Destruction, Gates of Olympus 1000 and Wanted Dead or a Wild — because their buy-mode RTPs were not read during the tests. They will be added at the next pass. The wider pattern this table shows: on six of the eight, the badge equals a buy tier, so buying at that tier costs no more per dollar than the badge suggests; on Sugar Rush 1000 and Gates of Olympus Super Scatter every buy runs below the badge.

Open the game on Duel, find the purchase button for its price, and open the rules screen for the RTP of that mode. Compare with the table above; the client is current, this page is dated.

Buy or spin?
Three Cases, Read From the Table
The buy is the badge mode (Sweet Bonanza 1000 at 500x, Zeus vs Hades' Hades 75x buy, Le Bandit's top FeatureSpins, both equal-RTP games). The purchase costs exactly what base play costs per dollar after rakeback. Buying changes the shape of the risk, not its average size.
Every buy runs below the badge (Gates of Olympus Super Scatter, Sugar Rush 1000). The purchase costs a few hundredths of a point more per dollar than the badge implies — one to nine cents per $100 on these two — because the rebate follows the badge while the RTP follows the mode. Small, real, and the reason to read the rules screen before pressing the button.
Buy RTP not yet read (the five unmarked rows above). Open the rules screen: if it lists a figure for the buy, subtract half the badge edge and you have your net cost; if it lists none, assume the base figure and the same hundredths of uncertainty.
In all three cases the decision that matters most is not on any table: whether you want $100 of exposure resolved in one feature or in five hundred spins. Volatility ratings of 5/5 on most of these games mean a single buy can return nothing at all, and the rakeback on it — $1.73 to $1.97 per $100 — will not soften that.
Two different things
A Bonus Buy Is Not a Casino Bonus
Despite the word, a bonus buy is a feature inside the slot, priced by the studio; a casino bonus is a promotion with wagering terms, priced by the casino. Duel's rakeback is neither — it is a rebate on turnover, and a bonus buy simply generates turnover in one lump. If you are looking for deposit offers or free spins from the casino itself, this page will not help; if you are looking for games where you can pay to enter the feature, it is the list.
Method
How the Buy Data Was Collected
Each game was opened on Duel; the buy buttons gave the price, the rules screen gave the RTP of the bought mode where the game publishes one, and the date was recorded. Eight games were then played with real money under the rules on the methodology page, with the rules screens archived as evidence. A buy that exists in the same title elsewhere but not in Duel's version was never counted, and where the buy RTP was not on the screen the cell says so rather than borrowing a figure from another casino.

Which Duel slots let you buy the bonus?
Thirty-one of the 32 games in our catalog, and the ten above are the ones where we recorded the price — from 60x the stake on Book of Shadows to 600x on Soaked by Seamen's top tier. Rich Wilde and the Tome of Madness is the one catalogued game without the option.
Does buying the bonus change the RTP?
Sometimes, by hundredths of a point. On the eight games we tested, buys ran level with base on two, above base on some tiers of four, and at or below base on every tier of the remaining two. The rules screen lists the figure for each mode.
Do I get rakeback on a bonus buy?
Yes — half the badge edge on the purchase price, the same rate as on spins. A 100x buy at a $1 stake is $100 of turnover and earns $1.73 on a 3.45% badge.
Is the badge RTP the buy RTP?
On six of the eight tested games the badge equals a buy tier; on Gates of Olympus Super Scatter it equals the ante bet and on Sugar Rush 1000 the base game, with every buy below it. The rakeback follows the badge either way.
Is a bonus buy better value than spinning?
Per dollar, it costs the same or a few hundredths of a point more. What it changes is variance: one outcome instead of hundreds. That makes it more expensive in risk, not in average cost.
Why is a game's buy option missing on Duel when another casino has it?
Studios switch the feature on per version and per market. The rows here record what the Duel client showed on the date; a buy at another casino says nothing about Duel's version.
