What this page proves — and what it doesn't

It proves nothing about the RTP: a hundred spins never do. It tests one deterministic claim — that Duel credits 50% of the house edge on every settled wager — by comparing the rakeback counter with the starting balance, ending balance and turnover. The rules are on the methodology page; this was the fourth test in the series and the third studio.

Where the badge's number comes from: the game's best mode

Duel's rakeback tooltip for Duck Hunters reads:

96.07% is not the base RTP — the rules say 96.05% for the main game. Scan the full mode list and 96.07% is there: the Hawk Eye Spins feature buy, the highest of the nine configurations the game publishes. This test was where the pattern became visible. The two earlier discrepancies fit it — on Sweet Bonanza 1000 the badge's 96.55% was the Buy Super Free Spins mode, on Le Bandit the 96.4% was the top FeatureSpins buy — and so did Gates of Olympus 1000, where the base game is the highest mode. The series went on to check the pattern on seven more games; it held on all eleven, and the accrual followed the badge on every one where the cents could tell the difference. The consequence for a base-mode player: your real edge sits a few hundredths of a point above the edge your rakeback is computed from.

Setup and ledger

Starting balance $723.15, rakeback counter at zero. One block of 100 spins at $0.60 through Nolimit's Action Spins batch mode — base game, no feature buys, no active feature — for $60.00 of turnover. Ending balance $679.05, total winnings $15.90; the ledger reconciles to the cent: 723.15 − 60.00 + 15.90 = 679.05. One honest note on precision: the two RTP figures sit 0.02 points apart, so on $60.00 of turnover their predictions differ by less than a cent — too close for cent-level data to separate cleanly, unlike on Le Bandit where the gap was three times wider. Both predictions are compatible with the displayed value at cent precision; it is the mode list, not the cents, that identifies which figure the badge quotes here. On Zeus vs Hades, tested later with a wider gap, the cents did separate them and sided with the badge.

What it costs across the modes

The rebate is the same 1.97% of turnover in every mode, because it runs off the badge. Duck Hunters is the dearest game in our series after the rebate — 1.99% in base play against 1.65% for Big Bass Splash — and its cheapest buy is the widest gap between a mode and its badge that we have recorded. Halved is still not cheap: a low-edge table game costs less. Whatever the mode, the cost is (edge − rebate) × turnover; the rakeback guide has the arithmetic for any game. Net edge is rounded to two decimals.

The harshest session of the series — and why it proves nothing

The block paid back $15.90 on $60.00 wagered — a 26.5% session return. Set it next to the 593.2% our Le Bandit block returned the same day: both are anecdotes from the far ends of what high volatility does to 100-spin samples, and neither says anything about the long-run RTP of its game. The constant across both is the rakeback, which landed on its predicted value in each case. The counter tracked the wagers, not the luck.
