What this page proves — and what it doesn't

It proves nothing about the RTP: a hundred spins never do, and on a game this volatile the sample is pure noise. It tests one deterministic claim — that Duel credits 50% of the house edge on every settled wager — by comparing the rakeback counter with the starting balance, ending balance and turnover. The rules are on the methodology page; this was the third test in the series and the first on a Hacksaw Gaming title.

The badge and the game rules disagree — and it is not rounding

Duel's rakeback tooltip for Le Bandit reads:

The game's own rules page says 96.34% for the base game — a 0.06-point gap, and 96.34% does not round to 96.4% at any precision, so this is not a display artefact of the kind we later found on Fist of Destruction. It is a real difference between two first-party sources. At the time it was the second such gap in three tests, after the 0.02 points on Sweet Bonanza 1000; the series went on to find the same thing on every multi-mode game — the badge quotes the highest RTP among the modes the game publishes, here the All That Glitters Is Gold buy at 96.4%. Because the rebate follows the badge, base-mode players get slightly less rakeback than the rules figure would imply: two cents on our stakes, hundredths of a point at any volume. "Duel RTP" is the interface's own aggregate of RTP plus rebate; we call that figure a conditional effective return, because the rebate accrues outside the game and has to be claimed.

How we tested

Starting balance $426.13 — which reconciles to the cent with the previous test's ending balance plus its claimed rakeback (424.58 + 1.55), a running chain of custody across the series. Rakeback counter at zero. One block of 100 autoplay spins at $0.60 in the base game, no feature buys — $60.00 of turnover. Ending balance $722.05, total winnings $355.92; the ledger reconciles exactly: 426.13 − 60.00 + 355.92 = 722.05. A mid-block screenshot at spin 9 caught the counter at $0.09 — on schedule for the badge's rate.

Results: matched to the cent, on the badge figure

An exact cent-level match for the badge's figure and two cents short of what the rules RTP would predict. Cent-level data was enough to separate the two sources here, and the money follows the badge. Our first two tests ran on Pragmatic Play titles; Le Bandit is delivered through Hacksaw Gaming's own client, and the accrual behaved identically — whatever sits between the studio and the rakeback engine, the formula does not change with the studio.

What it costs across the modes

The rebate is the same 1.80% of turnover in every mode, because it runs off the badge. The five modes span 0.12 points after rakeback; the top buy is the only one that costs exactly what the badge implies. Halved is still not cheap: a low-edge table game costs less. Whatever the mode, the cost is (edge − rebate) × turnover; the rakeback guide has the arithmetic for any game. Net edge is rounded to two decimals.

Session outcome: 593.2% — and why it proves nothing

The block paid back $355.92 on $60.00 wagered — the series' one winning session. It is exactly as meaningless as the 26.5% our Duck Hunters block returned the same day: both are anecdotes from the far ends of what high volatility does to 100-spin samples. Side by side they make the series' point better than a chart — session results swing wildly, while the rakeback lands on its predicted value every time. Accrual tracks turnover, not outcomes.

Boundaries

One account, one date, USDT, with the 50% badge active — rates could differ by account, region or time, and Duel's terms can change after publication. The conclusions cover the accrual formula only, not session outcomes. The 96.4/96.34 discrepancy is documented, not explained: we can say which figure the accrual followed, not why the sources disagree. Cent-level data separated the two figures on this turnover; it cannot resolve differences much finer than that.

Verdict

On this account, on this date, Le Bandit accrued instant rakeback at exactly the badge's flat rate across the tested block — matched to the cent, on a second studio — and the series' chain of balances reconciles cent for cent from test to test. The advertised number checks out. The caveat worth remembering: the badge and the game rules quote RTPs 0.06 points apart, and the money follows the badge.
